MUSIC CATALOG

The music of Sam DeRose Jr. is built around concepts, stories, and imagery.

As a recording artist, songwriter, bassist, producer, and engineer, DeRose continues to develop a distinctive style that melds a Nuevo Pop sound with Hard Rock underpinnings while showcasing the electric bass as a powerful solo instrument.

Across Albums, EPs, and Singles, the bass serves as both a foundation and a featured voice, helping define a sound that is recognizable while remaining difficult to categorize.

Drawing from pop, rock, electronic, classical, and alternative influences, his recordings combine strong melodies, layered vocal harmonies, innovative bass performance, and modern production into a catalog that continually explores new creative territory.

While the musical styles may vary from release to release, a common thread remains throughout the work: every project begins with an idea and develops its own identity from there.

MUSIC RELEASES EXTENSIVE

The Abbey Road Sessions “EP”

Recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, The Abbey Road Sessions captures a period of artistic expansion and experimentation and accompanies three singles.

Blending classic songwriting influences with contemporary production, the EP combines expansive vocal harmonies, horn arrangements, synthesizers, modern bass performance, and ambitious production techniques into a cohesive collection of recordings. New Life examines renewal and the possibilities that emerge when embracing change. Time reflects on separation, memory, and the way distance can alter perspective. Beautiful questions modern standards of beauty and the pressures that increasingly shape self-image in contemporary culture.

Electro-Magnetic “EP”

Electro-Magnetic centers on the relationships that shape our lives, the Ep features three singles.

Each song approaches human connection from a different perspective while remaining linked by themes of loyalty, memory, admiration, and enduring influence. American Angel focuses on strength, confidence, and the character of today's American woman. Blue Moon reflects on distance, memory, and the lingering traces of a friendship that no longer exists. Sarah tells the story of two sisters navigating the challenges of autism through loyalty, perseverance, and an unbreakable bond. Together, these recordings explore the people whose influence remains present long after a particular moment has passed.

Frequency “EP”

Frequency introduces many of the musical characteristics that continue throughout the catalog and includes three singles.

Arena rock, retro-inspired pop, atmospheric arrangements, and inventive bass performances come together in a collection that highlights both variety and identity. While each song explores a different perspective, the EP establishes a creative foundation built on memorable melodies, strong concepts, and dynamic arrangements. Post Secret explores hidden confessions and unspoken truths. Happy reflects on the search for contentment in an increasingly complicated world. Dreaming Trees, Hit Me, and Out Here each contribute their own perspectives on imagination, energy, companionship, and personal freedom.

Heavy EP

(Coming Soon)

Currently in production, Heavy represents the next stage in the continuing evolution of the catalog.

Featuring the upcoming singles Lonely Hearts Parade, Lemonade, and High Wire, the EP moves toward a heavier sonic identity built around panoramic productions, three-dimensional soundscapes, larger arrangements, and a more expansive approach to recording and mixing.

While maintaining the strong songwriting, visual storytelling, and conceptual foundations that define earlier releases, Heavy explores greater scale, density, and atmosphere. The project introduces a more aggressive musical character while continuing to build upon the melodic sensibilities that remain central to the work of Sam DeRose Jr.

As new releases continue to emerge, each project adds another chapter to an expanding catalog built around ideas, musicianship, visual storytelling, and a continuing commitment to creative exploration.

Super Sonic Bass “Album”

Super Sonic Bass expands upon those ideas through a completely different approach.

Recorded entirely through analog studios and equipment, the album combines electric bass, acoustic drums, and carefully selected voice samples to create a collection of instrumental recordings built around groove, texture, atmosphere, and sound design. The result is a project that blurs the line between instrumental music, cinematic audio environments, and modern bass composition.

Solo Bass “Album”

Solo Bass explores the electric bass as a complete musical voice.

Constructed entirely from layered bass performances, the album moves between classical compositions, folk melodies, and original works while demonstrating the instrument's ability to function as melody, harmony, rhythm, and orchestration simultaneously. Rather than presenting the bass as a supporting instrument, Solo Bass places it at the center of every arrangement and examines what becomes possible when traditional boundaries are removed.
