“Super Sonic Bass” is an instrumental album built around a direct idea: placing the electric bass at the center of the composition rather than limiting it to a supporting role.

Recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, Blackbird Studio in Nashville, and AIR Studios in London, the album combines electric bass, acoustic drums, selected voice samples, and analog production techniques. The different studio environments contribute their own character while allowing the recordings to remain connected through tone, performance, and arrangement.

Throughout the album, voice samples, environmental textures, and analog studio effects interact with bass-centered compositions that move between groove, atmosphere, and technically detailed performance. Classic analog consoles and recording equipment preserve the dynamics of the instruments while giving the album a clear, physical low end.

Tracks such as “Jack The Ripper” focus on the technical side of the project through intricate slap-bass passages, close rhythmic interaction, and arrangements built around precision and movement. “Spacecraft” takes a more atmospheric direction, combining spoken-word elements, multi-tap delay effects, and layered bass parts influenced by science fiction and exploration.

“Fifth Utility” moves into faster and more aggressive rhythmic territory. Speed, control, and layered instrumental passages make it one of the album’s most technically demanding compositions without separating the performance from the structure of the piece.

Although advanced bass technique appears throughout the album, “Super Sonic Bass” remains focused on composition, sound, and atmosphere. The electric bass functions as a solo instrument, rhythmic foundation, and arranging tool, creating complete musical settings through melody, texture, and movement.

Featuring performances by multiple drummers recorded across the three studios, the album documents the interaction between bass and acoustic percussion in several different recording environments. “Super Sonic Bass” presents the electric bass as a complete compositional voice while maintaining the dynamics, imperfections, and physical character of live instrumental performance.
