“Sarah” is based on the true story of twin sisters Sarah and Katie, whose relationship developed alongside the realities of autism. Growing up, Sarah sometimes struggled to understand the barriers Katie faced in communication, learning, and being understood by those around her.

With support from their family, Katie learned to communicate through typing, opening new possibilities for self-expression and independence. Sarah continued to believe in her sister, and over time the two developed a closer understanding of one another.

Written from Sarah’s own words and experiences, the song focuses on patience, loyalty, and the ways siblings learn to support each other. Rather than reducing their story to hardship, “Sarah” presents autism through the perspective of a family relationship shaped by persistence, communication, and mutual understanding. Today, both sisters are doing well, and their bond remains central to the song.
