Frequency is a six-song EP that highlights the broad musical range of Sam DeRose Jr., combining pop, rock, alternative, and retro-inspired influences into a collection of songs connected by strong melodies, distinctive concepts, and innovative bass performance.

Opening the EP is Post Secret, a track inspired by the anonymous confessions found in the PostSecret books. Built around arena-rock energy, vintage-inspired keyboards, and contemporary production, the song explores the idea of deeply personal messages delivered to the one person who matters most. A powerful over-driven bass solo and fret-less bass finale serve as the centerpiece of the recording.

Happy shifts the mood with layered vocal harmonies and classic songwriting influences rooted in the sound of the 1960s. Blending acoustic textures with modern production, the song captures the spirit of a more carefree era while maintaining a contemporary feel.

On Dreaming Trees, atmospheric arrangements, expansive vocals, and melodic bass lines create a vivid and cinematic soundscape. The song's imaginative imagery and carefully crafted production make it one of the EP's most distinctive recordings.

Hit Me introduces a heavier edge, combining aggressive rhythms, punchy hooks, and an unusual blend of upright bass and modern keyboard textures. The result is a high-energy track that stands apart from the rest of the collection while remaining connected to the EP's overall musical identity.

Out Here delivers powerful pop-rock hooks and driving bass lines built around the idea of spending time with the person you most want to be with. Strong vocal melodies and dynamic instrumental performances help make the song one of the EP's standout singles.

Closing the EP is a reimagined version of (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay. Rather than recreating the original recording, DeRose strips the arrangement down to its foundation, allowing the bass and vocals to take center stage while offering a fresh interpretation of the classic song.

Throughout Frequency, DeRose continues to develop a distinctive style that melds a Nuevo Pop sound with Hard Rock underpinnings while showcasing the electric bass as a powerful solo instrument. The EP serves as both an introduction to his evolving musical direction and a snapshot of an artist unafraid to move between genres while maintaining a recognizable creative voice.
